Reach for the Stars Mentorship Program was founded by Aisha Smith-Danzy, President and CEO of Five Star Insurance in Lithonia, GA. As a former teenage parent herself, Mrs Smith-Danzy created this program to assist young mothers and fathers transition from high school into college. Each of its member is paired with a mentor that advises, supports, and counsels the young parents in various aspects of life. The program currently works with several high schools and group homes within the metropolitian Atlanta area and is seeking to expand its program nationally.
Scholarship Awards
In 2010, Reach for the Stars Mentorship Program awarded its first scholarship to a teenage mother, during its graduation ceremonies of Stephenson High School at New Birth Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia.
